Travel Tips

1:Slow down to Enjoy Your Trip

Don’t try and cram six countries into six weeks of travel. You’ll find the best things when you take your time and explore. You will learn about things that aren’t listed in your guidebook, and you’ll meet people who want to show off their city.

It is true that I have never had a great travel experience within the first couple of days after arriving. For maximum pleasure, spend more time in fewer locations. You’ll enjoy yourself much more!

Also, I recommend renting out a car while you are traveling to other countries. It can be scary driving somewhere new. But it opens you up to a world of adventure. It’s also a lot fun.

3:Volunteering is not a requirement.

When traveling, give some of your free time to worthwhile causes. It’s not only a rewarding experience but also teaches you about the culture and people of a country.

You can find a lot of volunteer opportunities in the world on Grassroots Voluntourism . Do your research and be careful when it comes to voluntourism. There are many scams.

Travel Photography Tips

Travel Tip: Take lots of photos!

3:Take Lots of Epic Travel Photos

Travel tip: Pay attention. These places and people may be the only ones you will ever see in your life. Take lots of pictures to remember them forever! Do not worry about appearing like a tourist. The best souvenirs are great photos.

You can easily share them, and they take up little space in your suitcase. You’ll find that the photos you take with others will be much more valuable than your postcards. Remember to enjoy the scenery once you’ve taken your photo.

5: Don’t get discouraged

There is no impossible. Don’t give up if you have trouble getting somewhere or doing something. It’s possible that you haven’t yet found the right solution or the right person. Do not listen to people who tell you it’s impossible.

Perseverance pays. How many times have I been told that something I wanted to do was not possible only to later prove them wrong when I didn’t listen to them and tried anyway? What is the worst thing that could happen? Failure is not the end of the universe!

6:Break out of your comfort zone

Challenge yourself by trying things that you normally find stressful. As you continue to do this, your anxiety will diminish. Not a hiker yet? Take more hikes. You have trouble speaking to strangers. Everyone should be able to talk. Are you afraid of strange food? You can eat anything you want.

What’s another uncomfortable or new experience when you travel? You can completely reinvent yourself. No one will know who you are

International Travel Tips for your Journey

Keep an open mind when traveling

7:Keep an Open Mind

Do not judge other people’s lifestyles and customs if they are different from your own . You should listen to those who disagree with you. It is arrogant to think that your opinions are right and others are wrong. Put yourself in the shoes of someone else and practice empathy.

Accept different opinions, beliefs, cultures, customs and interests. Ask questions. Ask questions.

8: Get Lost On Purpose

You need to visit the areas where people actually live and work. You can do this by walking, without knowing where you are going. If you need to catch a taxi, write down your hotel name. Then just choose a direction and begin walking.

You won’t have to worry about accidentally stumbling in dangerous areas, either. Locals will warn you well before you reach that point. You never know what you’ll discover around the next corner.

9: Do not over plan and be flexible.

When readers ask me how many days to spend in a certain city or country, I get irritated. Truthfully, I don’t know what you will enjoy or whom you will meet. I thought I would be able to get through Nicaragua in just a few days, but I ended up staying there for four months because I loved it.

I would suggest choosing a starting point and 1 or 2 activities that you must do, as well as an ending point. Let determine the rest. You should be flexible to adjust your plans as you go along.

10: Learn A Few Foreign Words

It’s not necessary to speak the language fluently to travel to a foreign land. One tip I learned was that learning a few phrases can enhance your travel experience. Some of my favorite phrases are: “Hello, please, thank-you, nice to meet, excuse me, Sorry, and can I take your picture?”

It can be frustrating to not be able communicate with others while on vacation, but it is your problem and not theirs. Raise your voice to make Mexicans understand English. You can also use Google Translate, hand signals or images on your smartphone.

11:Get an Extra Credit Card & ATM Card

It’s bad enough to have your bank card information stolen, but it can be even worse if you are visiting a foreign land. You’re out of luck if your card is frozen, stolen or eaten by the ATM. You’re screwed unless you have backup cards.

Travel Banking Tip: Pack a second bank account/debit cards and a backup card. Keep them separate from your wallet. If your wallet is stolen or your ATM card is declined, you can still access money on your trip.

You can also write down the address of your hotel.

After a long flight, playing games on your phone, the battery can die. If you don’t have the address, how can you show it to the taxi driver if you forgot?

It’s embarrassing. I’ve done it a few time. I’ve done this a few times, and it is awkward. You should also write down your room number after checking in.
