The Ultimate Travel Packing List (Best Travel Gear)

Luggage for Travel

Are you curious about what travel gear I use on my international trips? This gear page is a way for me to share with you my long-term travel pack list . It’s obvious that I suggest packing high-quality, durable & lightweight stuff.

My travel gear may not be suitable for everyone. When I travel, I often carry camping equipment, as well as extra equipment for hiking up mountains or long distance hitchhiking.

Travelers have different requirements & tastes. This travel gear list is what I have found to be most useful for my “adventure-style” travel.

My gear is expensive, even though I travel often on a tight budget. I want my gear to be comfortable, durable, multi-purpose and functional. I don’t like to have to replace worn out equipment while traveling. I also want my travel gear to be as light as possible.

Travel Luggage: Suitcase VS Backpack

The eternal question. Travel backpack, suitcase, or rolling duffel? It’s all about your personal preferences and the type of travel you intend to do.

You’ll need a backpack that’s designed for travel if you’re hitchhiking through Africa or riding chicken buses in Central America. You might choose a rolling suitcase or duffel if you travel a lot or spend a great deal of time in the city.

My travel style has evolved over the years. I find that a suitcase is more convenient on most trips.

Due to the fact that you are carrying more gear for photography and traveling with children.

My Main Travel Bags

I travel with 3 bags at the moment. I travel with a rolling suitcase for my main bag and a backpack when hiking or trekking in the mountains.

I only check in one bag, usually the hard-shell suitcase. It can fit a hiking backpack that is flat inside. If I am going on a longer trip that requires more technical gear, like winter camping or trekking, I will check both.

Basic Travel Gear

The following is the basic travel gear I take with me wherever I go. I have everything from items that help me to stay organized when traveling to items that make flying more comfortable.

Backpacking and Camping Gear

When I travel, I am an adventure junkie. I love to backpack, trek, and camp. For these trips, I bring some high-end outdoor gear (super lightweight and durable).

Travel Clothing & Apparel

Traveling doesn’t require a large wardrobe. This is what I wear when I travel around the globe. I like to purchase clothes that are lightweight and wrinkle-resistant. How much is it?

  • Two pairs of pants
  • Two pairs of shorts
  • 5 t-shirts
  • Dress shirts 2
  • 2 sweatshirts/sweaters
  • Five pairs of underwear
  • Five pairs of socks
  • Swimsuit
  • Buy 1 pair of sandals
  • Buy 1 pair of shoes

Travel Tech Gadgets

Without some computer equipment, I wouldn’t be able create a blog with this level of quality. Other electronic is not necessary, but it improves my quality of travel enough to make the weight worth it.

Travel Photography Gear

This is my camera gear that I use to photograph adventure travel around the globe. In addition to shooting images for my blog, I sell them to brands, magazines and national tourism boards. Because it’s a part of my job, I carry more equipment than most travelers. You can view my entire camera gear by clicking here.
