The Traveler’s Way: Why Travelers Look Out For Each Other

The Traveler Way: Why When We Meet Travelers You Just Know

A bond is formed instantly when we meet another traveler. The experiences and personality traits that develop through travel form this bridge.

“Another expat? They understand . “Backpacker on a Budget? “Are you always on the move for work? “Been there, done it.”

It’s easy to get along well with travelers. It’s easy.

Don’t romanticize all travellers. You can also run into the odd cultural offender. Most of the time, we can get along with fellow travelers.

Have you ever made a close friend while travelling? Proof.

You may have read my article ” Five Ways to Meet People When Traveling” and know that I am a proponent of meeting people from outside your wolfpack. You’ll already know this if you have downloaded my BUENA app.

When we meet another traveler we know exactly WHY:

1. Every traveler has been in a position where they have needed assistance.

It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or an expert traveler. You will still need help from others. There is no 100% independent traveler. Language barriers, transportation problems, and suggested itinerary are all factors that contribute to this. As travelers, we understand what it’s like to feel dependent despite being independent. Quote=”As travellers, we know how it feels to be dependent in spite of our ability to be independently. “]

2. All travelers have suffered.

When we wander, we get lost. We are ripped off. We get robbed. We experience moments of doubt and, of course, long-distance relationships can be strained (whether with our family, friends, or romantic partners). You may travel frequently or only occasionally.

Most travelers would like to seeothers travel. We travel because it’s what we love to do, and we want others to experience life and enjoy it as much as we do.

We’ll give what we can because it’s not always easy and other people have helped us.

4. All the cool kids travel.

We are inclined to help someone we like. We want to spend time with someone we like, whether it’s by hanging out, working with them or traveling with them.

This is the type of personality that becomes our friend. When traveler is equated to friends, then we are both on the lookout for each other.

5. Reciprocity. We know we will again be in a position where we’re going to need a little scratch on our back, so we may as well get to scratching now.

There’s no written rule.

This article is dedicated to all the people who I’ve met in hostels, hotels, or while camping. This article is also dedicated to all the professional travelers I have met recently online, who have warmly welcomed me into travel.
